Crunchy Bridge is managed PostgreSQL from Crunchy Data, focused on production-grade Postgres with no compromises on SQL compatibility. Dora connects to it using the standard URI.
All Crunchy Bridge clusters require SSL. Dora handles this automatically when connecting to a crunchybridge.com host.
PostgreSQL connection string
postgresql://[USER]:[PASSWORD]@p.[CLUSTER-ID].crunchybridge.com:5432/[DBNAME]?sslmode=requireSteps
1.Open your cluster in Crunchy Bridge
Log into the Crunchy Bridge console and select your cluster from the dashboard.
2.Copy the connection string
Navigate to the Connect tab. Copy the "Connection URI". It looks like postgresql://[USER]:[PASSWORD]@p.[CLUSTER-ID].crunchybridge.com:5432/[DBNAME]?sslmode=require.
3.Add a connection in Dora
Create a new connection in Dora and paste the connection URI. Dora reads the host, port, credentials, database, and SSL mode automatically.
4.Test and connect
Click Test, then Connect. Your Crunchy Bridge schemas and tables appear in the Dora sidebar.
Good to know
- Crunchy Bridge enforces sslmode=require on all connections. The copied URI includes this parameter.
- Crunchy Bridge also offers superuser and application-user roles. Use the application user (non-superuser) for day-to-day browsing in Dora.
- Crunchy Bridge supports PostGIS and other Postgres extensions. Dora's schema browser will reflect these extra types and functions.
